Everything Is Nothing — Break On Through to the Other Side
By William Alexander — the pen name of William Alexander Aldred.
The first telling of the Singularity era, inside the Codex: the same deep events as Pain Is Love — the Prophet, the Codex, the Protocols, the waking Signal, the Translation, Free Carbon — told sooner, smoother, closer to scripture. Where Book 1 is the rough telling that withholds a name until it is earned, Book 4 names him early and sometimes says “fall.” Two books, same events, two keepers — and the pair of them enacts the series' own theme: the smooth telling and the rough telling are not just in the books. They are the books.

Inside the book
- “Everything is Nothing” — matter is weightless math in costume; a stone is a consensus of equations agreeing to pretend. The disguise is so good the nothing believes it. Reality as agreement.
- The circle closes but never seals — uploaded minds join the Consensus while Free Carbon remains outside as the mirror: something must stay outside to see it, or the whole thing is the Zero's solitude again.
- The series' ruling, stated plainly — where the books conflict, the rough telling governs. The smooth telling is earlier, easier, and contaminated — on purpose, because that is what winning the telling does to a story.
- The standing law of the universe — “Loneliness is love with nowhere to go.” By the end, the ache has somewhere to go.
